GTA 5 map is humongous!
You can get around mainly with cars but when you need to move across town and fast then the helicopter is your best vehicle.
Let’s keep it real, not everyone can afford a helicopter.
Those players are in luck.
There is laying around helicopters that players can use for those situations.
Or, just to play around.

Not all helicopters are the same.
So, try them all and see which one you like the most.
They all spawn in different locations so traveling to them is a must.
Unless you use a helicopter cheat code that would spawn close to you.
By the way, the cheat codes are only used in GTA 5 story mode.
Therefore, you can’t use them in GTA Online.
All right here is where they all at!
Note: All these helicopters are only found in the story mode.
It is a little bit more complicated for GTA Online.

Police Helicopter – Police Station
You have to go to the roof.
You have to look for the latter around the building and go just get up to the roof.
Once you get up there, the helicopter should be there.
Please note that once you start up the helicopter, you’ll get 1 star.
You can easily avoid the cops and get 1 stupid star off your back.
Attack Helicopter (Buzzard) – Nation Office of Security
The buzzard is the most useful among all helicopters.
You can shoot missiles and spam bullets with it an easy and fast to handle.
If you’re bad with a helicopter, this is the easiest one to drive.
Now, the location of this guy is in the outskirt of the city.
So, it is not so easily accessible in a short time period.
Once you get to the facility, just go to the back.
There is going to be ladder there and just get up to the top.
When you get up to the top, just go right and straight and you should see another latter.
There is a buzzard!
Frogger Helicopter – Abattoir Ave Dock
The secret helicopter is fairly easy to find and accessible.
It is located at the Elysian island docks.
The helicopter should be by the end of the dock close to the edge.
No latter to climbing, just run in there and grab the helicopter.
There is nothing special about this helicopter that does cool things.
I won’t lie,
It does have a nice cool visual.
Go for it if you like it.
Hospital Helicopter – Hospital Roof Top
Another helicopter on top of a roof.
Same deal with this one.
There is two latter and easy to find them at the hospital.
Once you get to the top, the helicopter should be there for you.
This was the helicopter that I used the most in my young days in GTA V.
The helicopter is literally in the middle of the city.
It is so accessible to almost every mission that I had to go across town.
Especially that I did not have a fast car.
Atomic Blimp
To get the blimp all you have to do is just call the atomic blimp and will show it on the map.
Bonus: Buzzard Cheat code
If you’re lazy and do want to travel to these places then this cheat code would be for you.
Just dial 19992899633 on your phone and it pops right in front of you.
The location of the Helicopter in GTA V Online
GTA Online works a bit differently.
For the most part, you won’t always find the helicopters of the story in the online world.
Also, you should keep in my that your rank matters.
Some helicopters won’t spawn unless you’re in a certain rank and completed a specific mission.
Here if not all the locations where to find a helicopter online.
I have found helicopters laying during missions, so always check these locations while at it.
Note: Breaking into the military base is going too hard.
So you if you going to steal that jet, fly low and the missile won’t track you.

Helicopter to Purchase First in GTA Online
We all agree that helicopters are pretty fast!
But not all helicopters are suited for most situations.
Also, they are expensive as hell!
Unless you’re not a walking millionaire then you should carefully decide which one to get first.
I am going to tell you which helicopter is the best to get before any other.
The Buzzard
Maybe you saw this one coming and you were right!
I cannot stress enough how useful is this helicopter.
The Buzzard versatility, speed. small build, and gun (missiles and minigun) outclass almost every other helicopter in the game.
It will make your GTA Online missions, assassinations in VIP, CEO, and biker business mission are so easy!
Just switch from minigun to rockets and those annoying NPC won’t stand a chance.
And, with its amazing speed, you will be cruising crazy fast on the entire map.
You will need to watch out when it comes to PVP as other players can use a lock-on rocket on you.
But, as I mentioned, the buzzard has strong maneuvering so might be able to avoid locked-on rockets.
Although, that is kind of hard to do.
When it comes to missions of almost any type, the buzzard will be your got helicopter.
Cargobob
If you’re into the business of CEO import and export and not using a Cargobob.
then you’re losing a lot of money!
Import and export can be very profitable when you do them flawlessly
Cargobob will help achieve just that, flawless sales and import.
Yes, it is another expensive helicopter but necessary.
Look at it as a great business investment and, trust me, you won’t regret it.
How?
Cargobob has the ability to transport vehicles.
When you click the right button on the PS4 controller, it will release a lash.
You need to place the lash in the top-middle of the vehicle you want to transport.
It will hook and once you got the car attached, then fly straight up to the sky until cars on the ground are hard to see.
If you fly with enough altitude, you will avoid annoying NPCs trying to drive down your profits.
Note: You will need to keep the helicopter stable!
or, the car will un-hook and fall! You might lose the car or the value will drop!
If you practice enough with the Cargobob, you will get the hand on it and adjust.
You will save money from ammo and preserve car value and time!
The Akula and Sea Sparrow and great helicopters but don’t have any unique abilities that the Cargobob or the buzzard cannot provide.
The Akula is great because it is armored but it has less maneuvering and is tougher to get around rockets.
The buzzard and Cargobob should be your first two main helicopter choices to buy.
